Elder Eddie N. “Sam” Sampson
Elder Eddie N. “Sam” Sampson is a native of the great state of Alabama. He attended the Conecuh County Public Schools and graduated from Evergreen High School. After completing his studies at the United Electrical Institute located in Tampa Florida; Sam joined the U. S. Army. After various assignments and numerous awards, he retired from the U. S. Army in July 1998. While stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, he met and married the former Ms. Tracy Yvette Porter in May 1986. From this union they share the love of their son Eddie Jr. (Portia), grandsons Zechariah and Jeremiah, and granddaughter Autumn.
Elder Sampson rededicated his life to Jesus Christ in November 1990 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, under the leadership of Pastor Anthony A. Parrish, Sr. While at Bethlehem he served as an Usher, member of the Ever Ready Gospel Chorus, Pastoral Choir, Men’s Chorus, Prison Ministry, Deacon Ministry, Sunday School Teacher and New Members’ Facilitator.
In April 2001, God led Sam and Tracy to worship at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Woodbridge, Virginia, under the leadership of Pastor Charles A. Lundy. He served as an Armour Bearer, Coordinator for both, the Prison and Young Adult Ministries, Sunday School and Assistant Adult Bible Study Teacher, a member of the Counseling Ministry, Phyllis Lee Williams Gospel Chorus, Robert “Pop” Middleton Men’s Chorus and lead facilitator for the Mt. Tabor Fellowship (Mountain Men Ministry). Elder Sampson was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in February 2002.
Elder Sampson and Tracy were led to serve at the St. Stephen Baptist Church, in Temple Hills, Maryland, under the leadership of Bishop Lanier C. Twyman, Sr. in April 2009. Sam was ordained in May 2010, he served as a member of the Ministerial Alliance, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, Men’s and Prison Ministries, and as Volunteer Chaplain at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, Manassas, Virginia.
Currently, Elder Sampson serves as a Quality Assurance Specialist for the U. S. Army. As an Adjunct Professor, he taught Electrical Power Technology at Prince George’s Community College. He received a BA Degree in Biblical Studies, and a BA Degree in Psychology and Counseling from the Washington Bible College - Capitol Seminary (Lancaster Bible College). He is now in the process of completing his Masters of Divinity. Elder Sampson was called to serve as Pastor of the New Union Baptist Church in September 2013 where he continues to teach the Word of God. Elder Sampson remains steadfast in his quest to “develop dynamic disciples.”
